Glenn H. Fuchs, M.D.
Glenn H. Fuchs, M.D. is an Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology at George Washington University Medical Center where he teaches both medical students and residents. He has been practicing medical, surgical and cosmetic dermatology in Washington, D.C. and Arlington, Virginia since 1982.
Dr. Glenn H. Fuchs received his Bachelor of Arts degree Magna Cum Laude from New York University in 1973. He was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society at that time. He was also awarded the prestigious Founder's Day Award for academic excellence. He received the Degree of Doctor of Medicine in 1977 from The New York University School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Nassau County Medical Center of Stony Brook University in 1978 and 1979. He moved to Virginia in 1979 and began his Dermatology training at George Washington University Medical Center. He completed his residency in Dermatology in 1982 and also served as Chief Resident in Dermatology.
Doctor Fuchs is Board certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a fellow of The American Academy of Dermatology. He is also a member of the Washington D.C. Dermatologic Society and the Atlantic Dermatology Society.
He has been recognized by The Washingtonian Magazine as one of the region's Top Doctors continually for more than 25 years, without exception, since that honor was initially created. He has been interviewed and quoted on numerous occasions by The Washingtonian Magazine and The Washington Post. Doctor Fuchs has also appeared as an expert in dermatology on The CBS Evening News.
Doctor Fuchs is also a teacher of dermatology as a member of the faculty at George Washington University Medical Center.He gives lectures to medical students, residents and other physicians on topics that include the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer, psoriasis, acne and rosacea. He also is currently involved in clinical research concerning the treatment of psoriasis, acne and rosacea. This involves the study of new therapies for these conditions and assesses the risks and side effects of medications.
Doctor Fuchs specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of skin cancer including the care of patients with basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma and melanoma.His practice also includes the care of patients with all skin disorders including psoriasis, eczema, acne, rosacea, warts and all types of rashes and skin disease.
Most of his surgical cases involve the removal of skin cancers, as well as the biopsy and testing of suspicious moles. All of his surgical cases are done in the office under local anesthesia. Procedures also include the removal of cysts, warts and premalignant skin lesions.
Another very important part of his dermatologic practice comprises the care of aesthetic and cosmetic patients. Doctor Fuchs is expert in the use of dermalfillers including Restylane, Perlane, Juvederm, and Radiesse and in the use of Botox and Dysport for the treatment of aging and wrinkles. Other procedures performed in the offices include chemical peels, microdermabrasion and laser treatments. These are used to treat wrinkles,dark spots, broken veins and facial redness. Laser procedures are also done to remove unwanted hair.
Doctor Fuchs has been happily married for thirty five years. He has two wonderful children who are married to two wonderful people.
